A Day In The Life Of A Support Engineer
Lillie joined the Clik support team in June 2017 and looks after Clik’s customers using our service management software. She’s been working full-time with us through the summer, but is heading back to uni next week so we’ll only have her with us part-time (boo). Here is a typical day at Clik Towers for her.
I start my day by getting up way too late and having to be dragged out of bed by my partner so that I can grab a lift. (I’ve never been late to work though!).
I usually get to Clik Towers about 20 minutes early so I’ll pop into Aldi next door and get some food, cereal bars and lots of snacks to set me up for the day. When I get into the office, I’ll make a coffee and have a chat to Nancy about my morning, even though she has no interest and didn’t even ask. Then I’ll check my emails and make sure I’ve not missed anything important overnight, make myself another coffee and start taking calls/chats and tickets.
If I’m not on the phone, I’ll listen to music while working. I like a lot of old school rock n’ roll. I saw Biffy Clyro headline a festival this summer, and I have been super into them and have started to listen to all their albums from the beginning, so I have a lot to catch up on. I also love Taylor Swift. She is my sass spirit animal.
I work as part of the tech support team. There would be no way I would know anything about Clik without the help and support of the rest of the Clik team.
I do attempt to make my lunch, but it is always gross, so I tend to chuck it and head onto North Street for some treats. (Or burgers, they do great burgers around here).
My favourite part of working at Clik has to be the rest of the team here. Also, the beers on a Friday are pretty great.
I am working towards a Masters Degree in Sound for Games and Apps, so at the end of the day, I typically head to the library for a couple of hours. When I get home, I’ll binge watch a terrible American comedy for a while before bed.
My favourite book is pretty basic, but I love Harry Potter, Prisoner of Azkaban. I’m not a huge film person. I love a good series though. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my favourite, I could re-watch it on repeat forever. My favourite album is Fidlar, Too, favourite food is tuna – I never leave home without my headphones.
